JOB SUMMARY

Demonstrates skilled procedural abilities and practices within the framework of the nursing process. The nurse coordinates and provides patient care in a structured environment while adhering to and supporting hospital and unit philosophy goals and standards of care. The nurse is a highly effective communicator with patient, family and other health care team members. The nurse is a patient advocate. The nurse fosters the development of colleagues. Demonstrates advanced technical competencies, positive interpersonal relationships and well-developed critical thinking skills to promote and provide quality health care for patients. The nurse has knowledge of and utilizes appropriate age-related patient care protocols relating to the physical and psychological needs of infant, pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric patients.Strong communication skills with patient, family and health care team including knowledge of medical terminology. Ability to reference materials and multi-task.

QUALIFICATIONS

Requires current licensure as a Registered Nurse in state(s) of practice and/or possess multi-state licensure privileges as required by position. Nurses performing nursing practice over the telephone require licensure in the states where the patients being served reside. Obtains and subsequently maintains required department specific competencies and certifications (ACLS) within timeline set my manager/director. Must have graduated from an accredited school or college of nursing. Bachelor's degree in nursing is preferred. Specific services/positions may have additional education, training or experience requirements.
