Provide health and wellness screenings. Provide education regarding health factors and lifestyle behaviors influencing results with scope of practice. Provide appropriate recommendations and referrals following established standards and practices.
Provide health and wellness screenings, which may include height, weight, body mass index, girth measurements, blood pressure, carbon monoxide, cholesterol, glucose, hemoglobin A1C, cotinine, flu shots, fitness assessments and other on-site preventive health services within scope of practice. Administer well being screening. Provide education regarding health factors and lifestyle behaviors influencing results within scope of practice. Provide appropriate recommendations and referrals following established standards and practices. Incorporate teaching/learning principles and adapt teaching to group/individual needs. Have knowledge of and utilize appropriate age-related procedures relating to the physical and psychological needs of participants of all ages within scope of practice. Possess knowledge and skills required to
provide screening and preventative health services within scope of practice. Maintain protocols, competencies and algorithms following established standards and practices. Hold accountability for operating screening equipment. Control variances. Document and communicate clearly. Collaborate with and support other departments. Work with multidisciplinary team to develop algorithms, protocols, programs and educational materials for participants identified to be at risk for disease development. Work closely with participants, physicians, team members and community agencies. Function in expanded roles outside the screening environment. Be self-motivated, independent and able to work within a confined space. Maintain confidentiality of health information. Be creative and well organized to meet the demands and solve problems of the screening and preventative health services program. React calmly and effectively in emergencies. Serve as a resource for staff and assist with training new team members. Identify areas for improvement. Work variable hours dependent on screening schedule to include evenings and weekends. Driving, travel and overnight travel required.
Graduate of a health promotion/wellness/allied health program or RN/LPN nursing program. If a graduate of a nursing program, currently licensed with the applicable State Nursing Board and/or possess multistate licensure privileges as required by position. License to practice as a RN/LPN in the state of Minnesota must be obtained with 3 months of hire into position. CPR required. Candidates without CPR certification must obtain within 3 months of employment. Current valid driver's license is required.
